Life: I grew up in Eastbourne and now live in London (a proud Peckham-ite). I’m married to Sarah and we have three beautiful children. Since stepping onto the property ladder I am also a reluctant DIY-er and a very reluctant gardener! I’m a former semi-pro footballer still struggling to come to terms with the fact that my best playing days are behind me!
Work: I am the Chief Operating Officer for the Legatum Institute, an international think-tank headquartered in London. I am also the Executive Director of the Atlantic Partnership, an organisation that promotes the need for a strong transatlantic relationship. Prior to these roles I was the Chief Operating Officer at the Centre for Social Justice and before that I led the team that produces an annual global Prosperity Index™. I have also worked in the House of Lords as a Senior Parliamentary Researcher.
Blog: My aim is for this blog to primarily focus on UK politics but it will inevitably drift into many of the other things that interest me including: writing, film, global development, football, freedom, US politics, music, democracy, love, philosophy, and general banter.
